Aromatherapy
ABOUT AROMATHERAPY
Description of Treatment: I can offer aromatherapy (the blending and dilution of essential oils for health and wellbeing) as part of completing a VTCT registered qualification. I will meet with you in person or via video call to have a consultation. When you book a treatment, you will be asked to fill out a consultation form which includes a medical history. This information will be kept confidential. Getting this information helps ensure the treatment is tailored to create effective and safe essential oil blends. Once we have identified what you may want a blend for (e.g. to help with stress), I will offer you ways to use the blend. Some example ways a blend can be applied or used are: a face/foot cream, bath oil/salts, inhalers, room/personal sprays, wrist roller-ball and potpourri.
Aromatherapy Benefits: Aromatherapy is used by people for a variety of reasons, for example its potential relaxing and stimulating effects. Some use it alongside conventional medical care, to help them manage or cope with a specific physical, mental or emotional problem. Along with being a means of relaxation, aromatherapy may help maintain good health and sleep. It may be a way to gain a sense of general well-being. Some people also use aromatherapy for feeling sick after surgery, cancer, dementia, and pain during labour, but evidence as to whether or not it works varies (Bupa). Please note, aromatherapy should not be used in place of conventional medical care. Always consult your GP or a health professional for medical attention and advice.
